SEO Basics Every Business Owner Should Know
You don't need to be an expert to rank. These fundamentals will put you ahead of most competitors.
SEO can feel overwhelming, but the fundamentals haven't changed much: create useful content, make your site technically sound, and earn genuine authority.
Start with your pages. Every page should have a clear title, a unique meta description, and a single H1 heading that describes the content. Use semantic HTML so search engines understand your structure.
Next, think about speed and mobile experience. Google indexes mobile-first, and slow sites struggle to rank. If your site isn't fast and thumb-friendly, you're leaving traffic on the table.
Content is still king. Publish genuinely helpful articles, guides, and case studies that answer the questions your audience is searching for. Keyword stuffing is out; value is in.
Finally, build authority through backlinks and local citations. The more reputable sites that reference yours, the more search engines trust you. Focus on quality over quantity.
